Once there lived two cats in a house. They used to gather their own food. One day they both stole a piece of bread from a neighboring house. But when they went to divide the bread, the problem arose as to how to divide it equally. Two cats want a large portion of bread when sharing. Then they failed to reach any conclusion for this situation. To solve this problem they went to a monkey. The monkey was considered the wisest of all animals.

They requested (seek) the monkey to divide the bread equally. The monkey tore the bread into two pieces and put them on the scale. He told the cats that one piece was obviously heavier than the other. So, he took a bite of the big piece. As a result, the other part becomes heavy. Then the monkey took another bite from the heavy piece and placed it on the scales. The monkey kept doing the same thing over and over until only one piece of bread was left.

Now, the cats asked the monkey to return the piece to them. But the monkey said that he worked hard to divide the bread equally. So he wanted it as his reward. Saying this the monkey ate that piece too. The cat left the place in a very depressed mood but the incident also made them wiser.
