Black takes no other hue/ Evil always remains an evil

Once in a cold winter morning  a villager was going to work in his field. He found a snake half dead (অর্ধমৃত) with cold. It was by the side (পাশে) of the road.  He wanted to go his field. But seeing the snake, he felt pity (দয়া)  and brought (এনেছিল) it his home. Then he lit a fire and warmed (উষ্ণ) the snake up. He took a cup of milk to the snake for drinking (পান করা). The snake was wicked to the backbone (মেরুদন্ড).

The snake gradually became well. The children wanted (চেয়েছিল) to play with the snake.  It spread (ছড়িয়ে পড়া) its hood (ফনা) and was about to bite one of them. The villager was standing nearby (কাছাকাছি). He realized that a venomous (বিষাক্ত) snake could not be believed. It might be dangerous (বিপদজনক) for the children. So the villager became very angry. At last he killed (হত্যা করা) the snake with his axe.

বাংলা অর্থ

একবার এক শীতের সকালে এক গ্রামবাসী তার ক্ষেতে কাজ করতে যাচ্ছিল। তিনি একটি সাপকে ঠান্ডায় অর্ধমৃত অবস্থায় দেখতে পেলেন। সাপটি রাস্তার পাশে ছিল। তিনি তার মাঠে যেতে চেয়েছিলেন। কিন্তু সাপটিকে দেখে তিনি করুণা অনুভব করলেন এবং নিজের বাড়িতে নিয়ে এলেন। অতঃপর তিনি আগুন জ্বালিয়ে সাপটিকে উষ্ণ  করলেন। পান করার জন্য সে সাপের কাছে এক কাপ দুধ নিয়ে গেল। সাপটি মেরুদণ্ডে ব্যাথা ছিল।

সাপটা ধীরে ধীরে সুস্থ হয়ে উঠল। শিশুরা সাপের সাথে খেলতে চেয়েছিল। সাপটি তার ফণা বিছিয়ে তাদের একজনকে কামড়াতে যাচ্ছিল। কাছেই দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল গ্রামবাসী । তিনি বুঝতে পারলেন যে একটি বিষাক্ত সাপ বিশ্বাস করা যায় না। এটি শিশুদের জন্য বিপজ্জনক হতে পারে। তাই গ্রামবাসী খুবই ক্ষুব্ধ হয়ে ওঠে। অবশেষে সে কুড়াল দিয়ে সাপটিকে মেরে ফেলল।

নৈতিকতা : মন্দ সর্বদা একটি মন্দ থাকে/ কালো অন্য কোন বর্ণ নেয় না।
