Who will bell the cat?

Once upon a time there was a rich man’s house which was infested with many rats. The house began as the town of hamelin. There were only rats everywhere. They were having a good time there. But the family members were in big trouble. Finally the owner of the house came up with a plan and he brought a strong cat to kill the rats and thought to get rid of the rats through it. The mouse’s life was in danger after learning about the cat’s presence in the house.

They could not move like before. Then all the mice sat together in the conference. Finally they decided that they would tie a bell around the cat’s neck so that they would know the cat’s vision. But a question arises, who will tie the bell to the cat?” They fussed over the matter, as none of the mice agreed to tie the bell around the cat’s neck. They thought that any mouse that approached the cat would lose its life. In the end, who would tie the noose around the cat’s neck was adjourned.

Morality: Worthless decisions never last or it is always wise to make good decisions for yourself.

কে বিড়াল বেল হবে

একদা এক ধনী ব্যক্তির বাড়ি ছিল যেখানে অনেক ইঁদুরের উপদ্রুত ছিল। বাড়িটা যেন শহরের হ্যামেলিনের মত শুরু হয়েছিল। সবখানে শুধু ইঁদুরের উপদ্রুপ ছিল। সেখানে তারা ভালো সময় কাটাচ্ছিল। কিন্তু পরিবারের সদস্যরা মহা সমস্যায় পড়েছিল। অবশেষে বাড়ির মালিক একটি পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন এবং তিনি ইঁদুর মারতে একটি শক্তিশালী বিড়াল এনেছিলেন এবং এর মাধ্যমে ইঁদুর থেকে মুক্তি পাওয়ার চিন্তা করলেন। বাড়িতে বিড়ালের উপস্থিতি জানতে পেরে ইদুরের জীবন ঝুঁকির মুখে পড়েছিল।

তারা আগের মত করে আর চলাফেরা করতে পারতে ছিল না। তখন সব ইঁদুর এক সাথে কনফারেন্সে বসলো। অবশেষে তারা সিদ্ধান্ত নিল যে তারা বিড়ালের গলায় একটি গন্টা বেঁধে দেবে যাতে তারা বিড়ালের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি জানতে পারে। কিন্তু একটা প্রশ্ন আসে, বিড়ালকে ঘণ্টা বাঁধবে কে?’’ তারা বিষয়টি নিয়ে হৈচৈ করে, কারণ ইঁদুরদের কেউই বিড়ালের গলায় ঘণ্টা বাঁধতে রাজি হয়নি। তারা ভেবেছিল যে, যেই ইঁদুর বিড়ালের কাছে যাবে সেই তার জীবন হারাবে। শেষ পর্যন্ত কে বিড়ালের গলায় গন্টা বাধঁবে তা স্থগিত হয়ে গেল। 

নৈতিকতা: মূল্যহীন সিদ্ধান্ত কখনই স্থায়ী হয় না অথবা সর্বক্ষেত্রে নিজের জন্য ভাল সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া বুদ্ধিমানের কাজ।
