Dear Sumi,
I am glad to receive your letter. You wanted to know about how we have celebrated our Independence Day in our School Campus. Now I am describing to you something about it.
We celebrated Independence Day in our School on 26 March by paying homage to the martyrs who gave their lives in the Liberation War against Pakistan in 1971.
On the occasion the college took a nice look. Our programme began with the hoisting of our national flag in the morning. A drawing competition was held at the School Campus. Our principal awarded prizes among the winners. A football match between teachers and students was also held at the playground at 4.oo pm.
Later, in the evening our cultural club arranged a colorful cultural programme. Many students participated in presenting songs, Nazrul Geeti, folk songs, one-act-play, dance etc. At about 9.00 pm the closing of the function was declared. We enjoyed it very much there.

প্রিয় সুমি,
আমি তোমার চিঠি পেয়ে খুশি। তুমি আমাদের স্কুল ক্যাম্পাসে আমাদের স্বাধীনতা দিবস কীভাবে উদযাপন করেছি সে সম্পর্কে জানতে চেয়েছিলেন। এখন আমি তোমাকে এটি সম্পর্কে কিছু বলতে যাচ্ছি।
১৯৭১ সালে পাকিস্তানের বিরুদ্ধে মুক্তিযুদ্ধে জীবনদানকারী শহীদদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের মাধ্যমে আমরা ২৬ মার্চ আমাদের স্কুলে স্বাধীনতা দিবস উদযাপন করি।
এ উপলক্ষে কলেজটি সুন্দর চেহারা নেয়। সকালে জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলনের মধ্য দিয়ে আমাদের কর্মসূচি শুরু হয়। স্কুল ক্যাম্পাসে চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আমাদের অধ্যক্ষ বিজয়ীদের মধ্যে পুরস্কার প্রদান করেন। বিকেল ৪টায় খেলার মাঠে শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে ফুটবল খেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
পরে সন্ধ্যায় আমাদের সাংস্কৃতিক ক্লাব এক বর্ণাঢ্য সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে। অনেক শিক্ষার্থী গান, নজরুল গীতি, লোকগীতি, একক নাটক, নৃত্য ইত্যাদি পরিবেশনায় অংশগ্রহণ করে। রাত ৯টার দিকে অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপনী ঘোষণা করা হয়। আমরা সেখানে খুব উপভোগ করেছি।
