A Book Fair I Have Visited – With Bangla meaning

The fair in which books are displayed and sold is called book fair. Every year a book fair is organized on the premises of Bangla Academy. This fair was organized in our country in memory of the language martyrs of 1952. Moreover, the fair is held to promote our language, literature and culture among the common people. I went to Bangla Academy Book Fair on 21st February last year.

I went there with some of my friends. The book fair is very big and beautiful. We saw many kinds of bookstores. There was a lot of crowd. There were various books like novels, poems, rhymes, adventure series, science fiction etc. I saw children, students and people of all ages. They are happily buying books. Moreover there were some writers. They were telling people about their books. I bought two story books from there. The book fair gives a lot of joy. 

বই মেলা

যে মেলাতে বই প্রদর্শন ও বিক্রয় করা তাকে বইমেলা বলে। প্রতি বছর বাংলা একাডেমির চত্তরে বই মেলার আয়োজন করা হয়। এ মেলাটি ১৯৫২ সালের ভাষা শহীদের স্বরণে আমাদের দেশে আয়োজন করা হয়। তাছাড়া, সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে আমাদের ভাষা, সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির প্রচার করার জন্য এ মেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আমি গত বছরে ২১শে ফেব্রুয়ারি বাংলা একাডেমি বই মেলায় গিয়েছিলাম।

আমি আমার কিছু বন্ধদের সাথে সেখানে গিয়েছিলাম। বই মেলাটি খুব বড় ও সুন্দর।  আমরা অনেক  রকমের বইয়ের দোকান দেখলাম। সেখানে অনেক ভিড় ছিল। সেখানে নানা রকমের বই ছিল যেমন উপন্যাস, কবিতা, ছড়া, অ্যাডভেঞ্চার সিরিজ, সায়েন্স ফিকশন ইত্যাদি। আমি সেখানে শিশুরা, ছাত্রছাত্রীরা সকল বয়সের মানুষদের দেখেছি। তারা আনন্দের সাথে বই কিনছে। তাছাড়া সেখানে কিছু লেখক ছিল। তারা তাদের বইয়ের সম্বন্ধে মানুষ বলতেছিল। আমি সেখান থেকে দুটি গল্পের বই কিনেছিলাম। বই মেলাটি অনেক আনন্দ দেয়।
