প্রথমত, তুমি আমার অভিনন্দন গ্রহণ করো। আমি কয়েকদিন আগে তোমার কাছ থেকে একটি ইমেল পেয়েছি। আমি তোমার ইমেল পেয়ে আনন্দিত। আমি কিছুদিন ধরে ভালো বোধ করছি না। আমি একটি মারাত্মক সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার সাক্ষী। আমাদের মহাসড়ক রাস্তায় গাড়িগুলো উচ্চ গতিতে চলে। সেদিন একটা বড় বাসের অনেক গতি ছিল। উল্টো দিক থেকে আরেকটি বাস আসছিল।

এরপর গতি নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে না পারায় বাসে মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়েছিল। এই দুর্ঘটনায় বহু মানুষের মৃত্যু হয়েছিল। কিছুক্ষণ পর পুলিশ সেখানে পৌঁছে নিহত ও আহতদের হাসপাতালে পাঠায়। আমার বক্তব্য হলো, আমাদের দেশে এ ধরনের ঘটনা অহরহ ঘটছে। প্রথমত আমাদের রাস্তাগুলো পরিকল্পিত নয়। তখন চালকরা নিজেদের মতো করে গাড়ি চালায় এবং ট্রাফিক আইন ঠিকমতো মানে না। মানুষ সবকিছু তাড়াহুড়ো করতে পছন্দ করে। দুর্ঘটনা ঘটলে আমরা তা থেকে শিক্ষা নিয়ে ব্যবস্থা নেই না। সরকার সময়োপযোগী নীতিমালা বাস্তবায়নে ব্যর্থ।

তোমাকে ইমেল করে ভালো লাগলো। আমি চাই দুর্ঘটনা দিন দিন কমবে। আমরা নিরাপদে রুম ছেড়ে আবার এটিতে ফিরে যেতে পারি। তোমার পিতামাতাকে সম্মান জানিও।
