বিভিন্ন গ্রামার এর ব্যবহার জেনে রাখাটা অনেক ভালো একটি বিষয়। এই পর্যায়ে আমি শুধুমাত্র একটি মাত্র Auxiliary Verb নিয়ে আলোচনা করবো।
উপরের পিকচারটির মাধ্যমে আপনি সহজেই বুঝতে পারবেন এই Verb টির ব্যবহার। উপরে গঠন এবং উদহারণ সহ দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং বাংলাটাও উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে সকলের বোঝার জন্য।
উপরের পিকচারটিতে বেশ কয়েকটি উদহারণ দিয়ে বোঝানো হয়েছে ব্যবহার। আমি নিচে আরও কিছু উদাহারণ দিচ্ছি সবার বোঝার জন্য। আমি গঠনগুলো নিচে লিখে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করছি সবার বোঝার জন্য।
(a) Subject + Ought To + Be + Noun/ Adjective/ Verb এর Past Participle Form হওয়া উচিত বোঝাবে।
(b) Subject + Ought To + Be Being + Noun/ Adjective / Verb এর Past Participle Form হইতে থাকা উচিত।
(c) Subject + Ought To + Have Been + Noun/ Adjective / Verb এর Past Participle Form হওয়া উচিত ছিল।
(d) Subject + Ought To + Have Been Being + Noun/ Adjective / Verb এর Past Participle Form হইতে থাকা উচিত ছিল।
উপরের পিকচারটির মাধ্যমে হয়তো আপনার মনের ভেতরে থাকা সকল প্রশ্ন চলে যাবে। কারণ এখানে এই Auxiliary Verb এর বিস্তারিত তথ্যগুলো উদহারণসহ ভেঙ্গে দেখানো হয়েছে। এই Auxiliary Verb নিয়ে আশা করি আর কোন প্রশ্ন থাকবে না।

‘Ought to’ is a modal auxiliary verb and its meaning changes (পরিবর্তন করা) depending on how it is used in a sentence. In this lesson you will learn the usage of this not so commonly use English expression – Ought to.
In this lesson, you are going to take (নেওয়া) a look at the various uses of ‘ought to’.
Example: You ought to exercise (অনুশীলন করা) more. ( a strong recommendation/advice)
Example: She ought to receive (গ্রহন করা) the package tonight. (Probability)
Example: James ought to get (পাওয়া) the promotion. (something expected to happen)
In the past, it is used with ‘have + a past participle verb’. It means something that should have happened, didn’t happen in the past.
Example: You ought to have helped (সাহায্য করা) him. (you should have helped him, but you didn’t do your duty)
Example: I ought to have studied (পড়াশোনা করা) medicine not physics. (I regret the past action of studying physics)
In the negative, ‘ought not’ is used without ‘to’.
Example: You ought not smoke (ধুমপান করা) so much.
Example: They ought not carry (বহন করা) so much cash while travelling.
In the interrogative, ‘ought’ is placed before the subject and ‘to’ is not used. Generally, ‘should’ is more commonly used.
Example: Ought she call (ডাকা) the police? (‘Should she call the police?’ is a more common way of asking)
Example: Ought we complete (শেষ করা) this now? (should is more commonly used in place of ‘ought’)
