Dear Nahid,
It has been quite (বেশ) long since I did not receive any letter from you. I have got a letter from (থেকে) our mother. I have not got good news (সংবাদ) about you. Our family has a reputation (সুনাম) in our area. We can not do anything (কোনকিছু) that can bring our family into disrepute (অসম্মান).
I have got your progress report for the annual examination. You do not get good marks in all subjects. We are greatly disappointed (হতাশা) with your result. Mother has told me that you like to stay with your friends any time. You do not study on time (সময়মত). You read just to show us. Every month we spend a lot of money for your education. At present, if you do not read carefully, you can not survive with society.
There is a lot of competition to get into a good university and to get good jobs. People do not get a chance to do anything twice in their life. So student life is the proper time of study. Time is very valuable (মূল্যবান) in our life. From today, you must study in time. Always try to stay a good friend who has a best dream for the future.
No more today. I hope you have understood. I am waiting for better improvement (উন্নতি). With best wishes to our parents.

প্রিয় নাহিদ,
অনেক দিন হয়ে গেল তোমার কোন চিঠি পাইনি। আমি আমাদের মায়ের কাছ থেকে একটি চিঠি পেয়েছি। আমি তোমার সম্পর্কে ভাল খবর পাইনি। আমাদের এলাকায় আমাদের পরিবারের সুনাম রয়েছে। আমরা এমন কিছু করতে পারি না যা আমাদের পরিবারকে অসম্মানিত করে।
আমি বার্ষিক পরীক্ষার তোমার ফলাফল পেয়েছি। তুমি সব বিষয়ে ভালো নম্বর পাও নাই। আমরা তোমার ফলাফলে ব্যাপকভাবে হতাশ। মা আমাকে বলেছেন যে তুমি যে কোনও সময় তোমার বন্ধুদের সাথে থাকতে পছন্দ করো। তুমি সময়মতো পড়ালেখা করো না। তুমি শুধু আমাদের দেখানোর জন্য পড়। প্রতি মাসে আমরা তোমার শিক্ষার জন্য প্রচুর অর্থ ব্যয় করি। বর্তমানে মনযোগ দিয়ে না পড়লে সমাজের সাথে টিকে থাকা যায় না।
ভালো বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি হওয়ার এবং ভালো চাকরি পাওয়ার জন্য অনেক প্রতিযোগিতা হয়। মানুষ জীবনে দুইবার কিছু করার সুযোগ পায় না। তাই ছাত্রজীবনই পড়াশোনার উপযুক্ত সময়। আমাদের জীবনে সময় খুবই মূল্যবান। আজ থেকে তুুমি সময়মতো পড়াশুনা করবে। সর্বদা এমন একজন ভাল বন্ধু সাথে থাকার চেষ্টা কর যার ভবিষ্যতের জন্য একটি ভাল স্বপ্ন আছে।
আজ আর নয়। আমি আশা করি তুমি বুঝতে পেরেছ। আমি ভাল তোমার উন্নতির জন্য অপেক্ষা করছি। আমাদের পিতামাতার জন্য শুভকামনা রইল।
